#77965 - RE: ISP Connector - 25-Way D
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Would it be reasonable to put a 25-pin port on the SBC exclusively for ISP programming so that the potential user would need nothing more than a standard 25-pin straight-through cable?

I agree with the others - a 25-Way 'D' is definitely the way to go.

From my Triscend (RIP) days I have two dev boards:
one had a 14-pin header for JTAG, and needed a separate "wiggler";
the other just had a 25-Way 'D'.

Just connecting straight to the 25-Way 'D' was, by far the most convenient - none of that tedious messing about with "Wigglers".

With a dev kit, ultimate compactness is not a major criterion! ;-)
