Reviving this thread once again I'd like to ask again for specific suggests regarding what SPI part I should include in the SBC. What I'm looking for here is a specific part number rather than just ideas such as "ADC", etc.

The part I'm looking for can serve any function but preferably not memory since the MCU being used already has 2k of on-board EEPROM and also not a clock because I'll be using the DS1307 as an I2C example.

And once again the part preferably will be fairly common. So far here in Mexico I'm finding pretty much I2C exclusively so I have no way of judging what SPI part is "widely available".

Any help and suggestions will once again be much appreciated.
