In case I wasn't clear in my previous post...
I assume the user of the SBC will almost always use the on-chip program memory as opposed to the EPROM. The EPROM would be enabled by moving the EA jumper to execute off-chip. I don't think the user will do that often--if ever--but I would like to cover PSEN and the concept of executing code from external memory. That's why I'm hesitant to remove the EPROM. I can have it execute code from external RAM but then that blurs the line between code and data memory early on in the discussion. Regards, Craig Steiner |
