#77866 - External RAM/ROM Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Why not choose a micro with enough RAM I believe 1 KB is more than enough for most of the applications. I am getting it right You are not planning to use Von-neuman [ Priceton ] architecture are you?. The purpose of the SBC is to serve as a basis to have a tutorial type of discussion regarding 8052 concepts. The purpose of external EPROM and/or RAM isn't because a typical application needs it but to serve as an example that the instructional material can discuss and point to. I am planning on making the RAM be optionally enabled as code memory by way of a jumper that would allow programs to be loaded into RAM and executed by a monitor. Again, this is mostly with the intention of using the design as a basis for a discussion on the concepts involved more than their immediate usefulness in a given application that would actually be run on the SBC.
