#78220 - Supervisor Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I'm looking for a little more input regarding the 8052 SBC. I'd like some input as to what supervisor IC I ought to use. The only requirements is that it handle reset on power-up and in response to the user pressing a reset button.
The supervisor does NOT need a watchdog. If it has a watchdog I need it to be something I can disable in hardware. I do not want the watchdog (if present) to be active when the system comes up unless the user specifically enables it. The most important aspect--and the reason I'm posting this message and asking for input rather than just Googling--is availability. What supervisors are easily available? The place I get most of my parts locally in Mexico don't have any whatsoever so I'll be ordering from mouser or Digikey. I also think that the lack of availability in Mexico is something for me to learn from and means I'll be including both an RC and supervisor circuit on the schematic. If the user has access to the supervisor IC, great. If not, at least anyone can build an RC network regardless of IC availability. Regards, Craig Steiner |
