True, but I was definitely planning on including external RAM so the 2 ports are going to be used there anyway. At least assuming the application running on the SBC uses external RAM.

Why not choose a micro with enough RAM I believe 1 KB is more than enough for most of the applications. I am getting it right You are not planning to use Von-neuman [ Priceton ] architecture are you?.
