But I think there is enough competition and interest in the 8051 that they'd be doing nothing more than losing money by abandoning Keil's current position in the 8051 market. If Keil 8051 tools were to disappear, there are more than enough competitors to take up the slack. I think ARM having Keil abandon the 8051 would be more of a windfall for other 8051 tool developers rather than something that would force or drive developers to go with ARM rather than 8051.
