Let me clarify. I can choose assembler IDEs like Pinnacle instead of a command line assembler. And of course Raisonance etc also supports assembly. I can now even simulate the serial port etc on the PC. So in general writing and testing code in assembly has also become much easier. With such tools, in a crunch I can sacrifice some of the advantages of a higher level language for size/ speed reasons. |
