 		 #103403 - How is Leading 51 seriesMCU vendor?

There are several 51 series MCU vendors but how amongs them is leader ? ATMEL or Phillips ? And what is there stretegy for future of 51 series MCU ? Are they realyy interested in promoting 51 or just fence sitting?

key to 51 future is these vendos vision about 51 series MCU. ATMEL is one of key players in 51 series market but I fails to understand why they are shifting focus from 51 series to AVR. Around 3-4 years back they are coming out with good 51 series derivatives at very fast pace but all the sudden deaccereraled that for AVR series( when their 51 sales seems to be good)

And none of 51 MCU vendors comes out with any significant developement tool support( leave aside low cost or free) when other MCU vendor like PIC, ST , freescale are offering such things.

With kind of 51 MCU user base & sales leading 51 MCU vendors could have offered low cost develp tool (IDE,compiler) with much cost overheads which would have gone a long way in boosting 51 application develop.
