#81411 - Effect of new messages on \'new\' flag Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The edit feature is real nice; I do, however think that the 'new message' time should be updated when an edit happens. You mean that the "last post" time should be updated to reflect the last time a message is modified or posted? Or do you mean that the "new" flag should be re-applied to messages that are modified? Or both? In this case, for example, you would have seen that I edited the above. Actually I did see that you had edited it but my answer remains the same. If you read a thread, go back to the main page and immediately refresh the "new" flag should be correct immediately. It should not take 5 minutes for it to take effect. Is it not possible that someone posted a new message to the thread after you left the thread and before you refreshed the main index? That happened to me a few times during testing. I actually thought something was broken until I realized "Oh, there is a new message." Regards, Craig Steiner 8052.com Webmaster |
