can you publish forum rules as the top-most post which is always there at the top just like on this forum? I liked this website since the top-most two posts are important for newcomers.


I've seen that approach used in lots of places and while it effectively puts the important messages at the top, I have two problems with it: 1) I'm not convinced the new people will bother reading it before they post. 2) I find it annoying as a regular user of those kinds of boards to always have those messages stuck at the top rather than the newest message.

I do plan on modifying the system so that before the first post that a new member makes to the forum that they are presented with the forum rules and must click "I understand and accept" or something to that effect. The forum rules will also be displayed every time to members with negative karma.

Maybe I'll get to that on Sunday, too.
