#88912 - I conclude Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If a manufacturer were to satisfy "Joe", "Bill" would be "upset". Thus I think the manufacturers "attitude" of "buy a million units or do not ask" is quite relevant.
I have no actual knowledge of the forum participants "purchasing power" (the most I have ever specified for purchase is 500.000 80c31) but, somehow, I get the impression that the fewer you buy the more you want. Anyhow, unless I am grossly mistaken, what you get will be what the million unit users ask for and - if you are lucky - some subvariants "now we introduce this chip, we might as well introduce one without the x". I recall a chip I tried to order in 10.000s in 85c temperature range and I were told until someone buy a million we are not going to make them so I had to accept the 70C variant. Erik |
