Perhaps a high speed ADC with high speed SRAM to buffer it and a 8052 core.
I know there are 8052 cores (Texas Inst.) with ADC but no high speed (40 or 50 MSPS would be nice)

I'm doing a PC Based DSO and using separate chips for that. The next time perhaps FPGA would be a nice choice.
