I think his objective is to extract some use out of those few left-over parts he's got from some other project. Whether the parts are new or ancient is not the issue for him, he's of a mind to utilize those parts in a particular way, and I think we should encourage him to try it. The worst that can happen is that he gives up in frustration and does what has been suggested right along, namely to use an ISP device and base his EEPROM programmer on that.
Unfortunately, most of the suggestions have been focused on using an ISP device, and few on the fact he wants to have an EEPROM programmer when he's done. This thread is yet another example of what I've cautioned against time after time. He asks what time it is, you tell him how to build a clock. When he's done, he may have a very nice clock, but still won't know what time it is. RE |
