#131120 - yes and I gavce him two Responding to: ???'s previous message |
It's HIS choice ...
yes and I gave him two http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=131094 I think his objective is to extract some use out of those few left-over parts he's got from some other project. Whether the parts are new or ancient is not the issue for him, he's of a mind to utilize those parts in a particular way, and I think we should encourage him to try it. Do you have shares of Bayer (the aspirin manufacturer), I see no other reason to 'encourage'? to use an ISP device and base his EEPROM programmer on that. I have seen no such suggestion. The suggestions has been "to use an ISP device instead of his EEPROM programmer" Using a 232 or JTAG (not Atmel 'serial') ISP device will give him something that works "out of the box" AND two ports freed up. Nobody can say for sure that pounding a nail with a shoe will not get it in, but using a hammer is much easier and guaranteed to do it. Erik |
