How much of the "OS" exist's prior to boot load from "mass storage".
All. I suggest placing it in Flash of the CPU chip, so it loads all from internal memory and upon execution of a user program the CPU switches to external memory. I disagree. I think the only thing that should be in flash on the CPU chip is bootstrap code capable of requesting the OS to be loaded from mass storage into XRAM. I believe both the user program and the OS should be in XRAM once the machine is booted. Regards, Craig Steiner |
