#77763 - Silabs as video chip Responding to: ???'s previous message |
An SiLabs eval board would be nice platform especially if it had a lot of XRAM (>8kB). Looks like SiLabs only has 8k of XRAM on-chip and my two development boards have even less. My development boards are from when they were still Cygnal Labs. One of them has a serial number of 1878 and the other one has a serial number of 143! But from your previous messages it looks like you were operating at about 11.0592 MIPS and with Cygnal we could go as high as 100 if necessary. Combine that with external XRAM and it seems we could even squeeze color and better resolution out of a high-speed SiLabs device. A quick look at the SiLabs datasheets suggests their on-board DACs wouldn't be fast enough to generate the video signal directly, though, which is a pity. Regards, Craig Steiner |
