What a big discussion of effort that in my honest opinion is largely an intellectual exercise. Exactly! The way I see this whole topic going is trying to bend an embedded microcontroller into a microprocessor. Yep! Though I'm still intrigued by the possibility that something like this could be sold to some companies that are paying north of a thousand dollars for a simple time & attendance clock with a color display.
