I went through the post you linked to, and found that the uC used was a PIC. It is my belief that the Off Topic votes you got were due to this.

While you may have provided this as an idea - applicable to the project, there are very frequent posts trying to wrestle this forum away from being '51 only. I think the reaction was due to this, and THAT does not, by any means, qualify as an "attack"
