Yes, and no. What i would suggest would be that "contributors of valuable info be requested to make a FAQ entry".

I know that the FAQ contributions I have made are different in form from a post (reply). Often a reply in a t hread will be too specific for the problem at hand to fully cover what a FAQ entry should contain.
