#78097 - RE: sort order buttons, post timestamps Responding to: ???'s previous message |
sort order buttons at the top of the forum subject listing (sort by date of last post, sort by date of first post ...) You can't sort by subject right now, but you can sort by date of last post or date of first post. Just click on the link at the top of the column you wish to order by. - a refresh button instead of reclicking on Newest to refresh (it looks like you're on the Previous Page page after you click Newest, because after you click Newest, Previous Page is not a link, and Newest). That's a good idea and it's something that's been bothering me lately. What I usually just do is double-click on my bookmark for the forum page or press the "Message Board" button on the left sidebar of the site. But some kind of convenient refresh button probably would be a good idea. - include both server local timestamps and client local timestamps on each line in the forum subject listings. Yes, someone mentioned something like that. At some point I'll probably allow each member to set their timezone and the forum will automatically adjust post times to the member's local timezone. - but (re previous item) delete low-priority columns if user's monitor is not very large (if that info is consistently available to the browser). That's also something I was considering, believe it or not. Or, more to the point, add additional optional columns and make all the columns optional. Thanks for your input.
