#78392 - Best Posts list, karma, and FAQ Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I don't think I'm fond of the idea of a "best threads" list. It feels like an additional type of "karma" implemented slightly differently.
Instead I think those threads that have valuable content should be added to the FAQ. A number of the FAQs refer and link back to threads in the forum so there's nothing wrong with a thread being highlighted. But I think the right place to do this is the FAQ section rather than creating a list of threads which would constitute yet another place where people would have to look for the answer before being sure it couldn't be found. Unfortunately very few people have contributed FAQs. I think this is one of the best places contributions to the site could be made. After a useful thread has run its course it seems it'd be great if someone would take the most important points from the thread and make it a FAQ entry. This is especially true with the many excellent posts that many members contribute to the forum. Often the post could be copied directly into a FAQ. Regards, Craig Steiner |
