#78385 - RE: Keil list coming Responding to: ???'s previous message |
1) with the cooperation you mention from Keil, why not make the updates happen in both places. That way there is no need to reinvent the wheel. If Keil add a chip, it should be transparent in bith places. Keil has already agreed to send me periodic updates of their chip database. We were thinking of either daily, weekly, or monthly. There was no discussion of 8052.com sending updates back to them but if there are people interested in maintaining things on this side I can bring it up with them. However if Keil isn't interested in any external help in maintaining the database then the question would be how we could possibly modify things on this side and stay in sync with Keil's database. 2) I will gladly volunteer to review/make entries re. Philips chips as I have channels for clearing up questions on that brand (may even get a Philips person to verify the entries). That could work well. Have one interested member in charge of each manufacturer. So you could be in charge of Philips, someone else Atmel, etc. In any case, let me get in touch with Keil and see what their thoughts are on bidirectional updates.
