64*8= 512 (pairs of) wires coming out of the box.

No techie, I know of, is going to be able to wire that correctly, even after 10 tries.

But since you udderly refuse to tell us what you are making, I'll leave that problem to you. If you could come down from your soapbox and tell us what it is, there migtht be some better solutions, but evidently you insist on being stuck on your approach.
