Hi,

Really? I intend to replace the serial connection with a couple of ready made FSK modules. Or more willingly BT (I've done some legwork on it) and it will replace the FSK approach of course iff I succeed to find an OEM BT receiver here. Anyhow I shall launch the 8051-BT or 8051-FSK just in case.

Also switching 6A can generate ground bounce of earthquake magnitudes...
The power rails of the digital part is completely isolated from that of the driver part and each of them has a true star power distribution. Ground bounce ... I think it's nothing to do with drivers driving LEDs.
