- Let me explaion more. The LED display is divided into 8 32x32 matrixes each having it's own driver attatched to it's back. Each driver includes 4 HC573s followed by ULN2803 for rows. The columns are "done" by a couple of 4515s and some extra stuff as a 5 to 32 decoder followed by BD136s. Some sort of parallel multiplexing is used in my displays i.e. each 32x32 matrix is multiplexed separately but synchronousely. In other words at each moment 8 columns are "ON" not 1. You definitely know the reason Erik. Motherboard supplys the 5 bit to the 5x32 decoders and the input to HC573s and their LatchEnables (four LEs for each driver).
- I noway intend to neglect your priceless words, but the parallel approach is what I've chosen to use, just let me go on you know..., unless there is something awefully threatening with it that may jeopardize the whole project. Not all the great successes are achieved following what others -even proffessionals- did.
The reasons for going parallel are :
- I don't feel like serial! (I am a very honest guy.)
- One single MOVX instruction is not only faster but much simpler.
