#87792 - Square root increase Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I still don't know how would you justify the square root increase of current for keeping the multiplexed LEDs intensity. This square root increase can be true if he uses high flux LEDs. I work with a IR-LED showing a perfect linearity between current and intensity even up to 500mA, unless the pulse is much longer than 100µsec. Unfortunately, these high flux LEDs are rather expensive. So, if he uses a high flux LED he could indeed save lots of current due to the square root increase. The only interesting question is, whether intensity is sufficient for outdoor use. But if any other solution would be too expensive, then he need to live with it. Kai |
