I hope some the reflections are terminated in the end terminator, but should any more transmission line effects occure, they're supposed to be attenuatd in the seies terminator.

Series termination is all you need, even for the fastest lines!
And take care: Termination impedances must exactly (!) match characteristic impedance of cable. Otherwise reflections are unavoidable. Don't toy arround with impedances that willingly differ from exact values. This does not make any sense at all!
