#87306 - To ULN or not to ULN Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi,
... ULN2803/4. If you keep in mind, that maximum current per output is only 200mA Output current(single output) 500mA then only 200mA / 32 = 6.25mA is present per LED http://www.allegromicro.com/techpub2/...95031.pdf: "Multiplexed displays must typically be operated at a current √n times the nominal operating current (where n is the number of digits)". You definitely know the "inertia of vision" or "persistence of vision" phnomenon. The thing with this phenomenon s that human eye does not "calculate" a precise "integral" of the pulses, instead it "see"s a rather bigger amount of light than just an "integral" of pulses, that's why 5x20mA is what we need instead of 32x20mA. Best. |
